The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), on Wednesday, 13th August, 2025, received a delegation from Sabratha University, Libya, led by its President, Prof. Salem Mohd Ali, for the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities.
The purpose of the MoU is to strengthen academic cooperation in key areas, including research, conferences, workshops, student exchange programmes, and other related academic activities.

In his remarks, Prof. Salem Mohd Ali expressed his delight at visiting KHAIRUN, noting the warm hospitality extended by the university’s management. He provided a brief overview of Sabratha University by highlighting its faculties, programmes, and facilities. He further reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the partnership remains purely academic and mutually beneficial, wishing KHAIRUN continued success in its academic mission.

Welcoming the delegation, KHAIRUN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, expressed profound gratitude for the visit and the trust placed in KHAIRUN as a partner institution. He shared a brief background of KHAIRUN and emphasized that the collaboration marks another significant milestone in the university’s quest for global academic partnerships. He also noted that KHAIRUN has established fruitful collaborations with several institutions and organizations worldwide and expressed confidence that this new agreement would further enhance academic growth and innovation.
The ceremony ended with warm exchanges of goodwill, as both parties looked forward to implementing the agreed initiatives. Prof. Garba concluded by wishing the Sabratha University team a safe journey home.
