Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) held its 2nd Congregation Meeting on Tuesday, 20th May 2025, at Alhaji Aminu Dantata Auditorium. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, who delivered a comprehensive address outlining the university’s achievements, challenges, and ongoing initiatives.

The VC expressed gratitude for the continued progress of the university while reaffirming KHAIRUN’s commitment to academic excellence rooted in the legacy of its founder, Late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu. He reported that lectures for the 2024/2025 academic session commenced in April, and, despite challenges such as students’ absenteeism, management is enforcing a 75% class attendance policy to ensure quality learning.
Prof. Garba highlighted institutional strides, including support for staff pursuing postgraduate degrees, introduction of research grants, improved internet and municipal services, and infrastructural upgrades like solar lighting and additional CCTV installations. He also noted recent professional visits from NUC, COREN, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with more expected for Radiography and Medical Laboratory Sciences.

The VC concluded by calling on staff to uphold professionalism, resist external pressures, and remain focused on building a university system that is globally competitive, morally grounded, and academically excellent—true to KHAIRUN’s founding vision.
