Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) held its maiden congregation meeting on February 1st, 2025, at its campus. The event marked a significant milestone in the university’s journey towards academic and institutional excellence.
In his opening remarks, the University Registrar, Mal. Yusuf Datti, emphasized the importance of the gathering, highlighting it as a demonstration of KHAIRUN’s commitment to inclusivity and continuous growth.
Speaking at the event, KHAIRUN’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, described the meeting as a bold step in the university’s mission to establish a world-class academic system. He noted that within just fifteen months, KHAIRUN has built a strong foundation, positioning itself ahead of many private universities in Kano State and the Northwest region.

He further outlined the university’s key achievements, including the enhancement of its revenue base through consultancy services, the establishment of a well-equipped library with online and offline e-resources, the provision of modern classrooms, laboratories, and staff offices, as well as improvements in clinic facilities, security, and sports. Staff training and welfare also remain a priority in KHAIRUN’s development agenda.
Prof. Garba concluded by calling on the management, staff, and students to remain steadfast in their support as the university continues its quest for academic excellence and global recognition.
