The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Kano (KHAIRUN) welcomed the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria and his delegation, on 24th December 2024.
The visit was facilitated by Alh. Hassan Tahir Yaro, President of the Kano Council of Traders and Entrepreneurs (KASCOTE), aimed to strengthen ties between KHAIRUN and the Indonesian embassy. Alh. Yaro expressed his delight at promoting this partnership and highlighted the embassy’s interest in collaborating with KHAIRUN to promote education in Northern Nigeria and the country.
In his remarks, the Indonesian Ambassador, Amb. Dr. H. Usra Harahap, emphasized the significance of such collaborations, particularly in advancing education, economic development, and socio-cultural exchange. He assured that KHAIRUN would be prioritized for opportunities such as postgraduate scholarships when they arise.
KHAIRUN’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, warmly welcomed the delegation and underscored the legacy and vision behind KHAIRUN’s establishment. He advocated for a reciprocal relationship, urging the ambassador to encourage Indonesian students to study science courses at KHAIRUN. Additionally, he expressed optimism about opportunities for KHAIRUN staff to visit Indonesia for further academic pursuits and skill development
In her vote of thanks, KHAIRUN’s Bursar, Dr. Naja’atu Bala Rabiu, expressed the university’s profound honor in hosting the ambassador. She also extended heartfelt gratitude to Alhaji Hassan Tahir Yaro for his pivotal role in facilitating the visit.
This engagement marks a promising step toward enhancing mutual growth and academic excellence through international collaboration.
