A distinguished delegation from Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, led by the esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, made a significant visit to His Royal Highness, Emir of Gaya, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya. The delegation, which included the Registrar, Malam Yusuf Datti, the Bursar, Dr. Naja’atu Bala Rabiu, University Librarian, Malam Nazir Muhammad, and representatives from the late Khalifa Sheikh Isyaka Rabiu’s family, led by Alhaji Anwar Isyaku Rabiu, sought to brief the Emir on the current state of the University and to seek his invaluable blessings and counsel.
His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gaya, expressed his deep joy upon learning of the establishment of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University. He extended his warmest appreciation and offered heartfelt prayers for the late Khalifa Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu, the visionary founder of the University. The Emir, in his wisdom, fervently prayed to the Almighty Allah for the seamless commencement of the University and assured the delegation of the unwavering support of the emirate towards the University’s growth and development.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, emphasized the indispensable role that traditional institutions play in the advancement of any society. He underscored the University’s commitment to seeking the blessings of revered royal figures and fostering a strong partnership with the Emir and the entire emirate. Professor Garba also disclosed that the University is on track to commence student admissions within the next two to three months. Additionally, he highlighted the University’s distinctive mission, which goes beyond awarding degrees, to nurture students with outstanding character and a profound understanding of Quranic knowledge.
