Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) successfully organized a public lecture titled \u201cWorld University Ranking Bodies: How Do They Work and How Do You Get Ranked?\u201d on Friday, 20th December 2024, at its campus. The event brought together staff, students, and representatives from sister universities to discuss critical insights into the global university ranking system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his welcome address, KHAIRUN\u2019s Registrar, Malam Yusuf Datti, highlighted the significance of the seminar\u2019s topic, urging attendees to actively engage and ask questions for better understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Ibrahim T. Siraj, emphasized the competitive nature of global university rankings and their impact on how universities are perceived. He stressed the need for universities to prepare adequately by meeting ranking criteria, thereby enhancing their recognition both nationally and internationally. He encouraged staff and students to give their best efforts in advancing KHAIRUN\u2019s position among top-ranked universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presenter, Dr. Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, Head of the Biochemistry Department and Director of Center for Research, Innovations, and Linkages Unit KHAIRUN, Deputy Director at the Directorate of Research and Innovations, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, delivered an insightful presentation on the prerequisites for achieving global ranking and recognition. He delved into the indices and parameters used by ranking bodies, offering practical guidance for universities aspiring to improve their standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Alkasim Hamisu Abdu, on behalf of the chairperson of KHAIRUN\u2019s Seminar\/Public Lecture Committee, who expressed gratitude to the university\u2019s management for supporting the event and to Dr. Ibrahim for his enlightening presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from sister universities including Baba Ahmed University, Azman University, Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, YUMSUK, ADUSTECH, and El-Razi Medical University alongside KHAIRUN\u2019s staff and students, attended the lecture which further enriched the discussions and reinforced KHAIRUN\u2019s commitment to academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
